RevoDUR® Architecture
RevoDUR® represents the Class IV trimetal architecture within the Revolit Thermal Architecture Framework. The platform combines stainless steel functional surfaces with a copper Thermal Spine for maximum conductivity and rapid temperature homogenization.
This architecture is designed for high-performance industrial heat plates where lateral heat spreading, short response time and stable industrial surfaces must be combined in one multilayer system.
Trimetal Layer Structure
The RevoDUR® architecture consists of three functional layers that work together as a controlled thermal system:
- Active Skin – stainless steel functional surface
- Thermal Spine – copper conductivity layer
- Passive Skin – structural backing layer
Each layer has a defined thermal and mechanical role within the industrial heat plate.
Active Skin
The Active Skin defines corrosion behaviour, cleanability and thermal contact at the surface of the system. Typical materials are stainless steels such as AISI 304 / EN 1.4301 or AISI 316L / EN 1.4404.
Thermal Spine
The copper Thermal Spine is the key differentiator of RevoDUR®. Copper provides substantially higher conductivity than aluminium and therefore accelerates lateral heat spreading and temperature equalization across the plate surface.
This enables RevoDUR® to address applications where thermal gradients must be minimized under high heat flux and compact geometry.
Passive Skin
The Passive Skin stabilizes the plate mechanically and supports dimensional integrity under thermal cycling and industrial load cases.
Architecture within the Thermal Framework
Within the Revolit Thermal Architecture Framework, RevoDUR® corresponds to Class IV – High-Conductivity Trimetal Architecture. Compared with RevoCORE®, the aluminium conductivity layer is replaced by copper. Compared with RevoTHERM®, RevoDUR® adds a dedicated Thermal Spine layer for significantly stronger heat spreading.
For customer-specific architectures beyond the standardized serial platform, RevoLAB® extends the portfolio with custom clad and multilayer systems.
