Quality – Surface Engineering and Industrial Reproducibility
In active heat plates, quality is defined by surface specification, reproducible finishing and documented process stability. Revolit provides engineered surface states from Ra 0.2 to Ra 1.6, directional or orbital finishes, and industrial coating options.
Quality Definition
For industrial multilayer heat plates, quality is not an abstract label. It is a measurable surface condition, a reproducible finishing process and a controlled interface stability. The functional surface defines cleaning behavior, wear, corrosion resistance, optical requirements and the interaction with food, tools or process media.
Reference Platforms
The 10 mm and 15 mm platforms represent validated industrial reference geometries. They are designed for serial manufacturing stability and consistent surface finishing in higher volumes.
Surface Finishing Capabilities
Defined Surface Roughness
Revolit provides defined surface roughness states from Ra 0.2 to Ra 1.6. The target value is selected by application requirements such as cleaning, optical appearance, friction behavior and coating compatibility.
Directional and Orbital Finishes
Surface texture can be produced as directional longitudinal finish or as orbital swirl finish. This is not cosmetic. It affects cleaning behavior, smear visibility, and functional interaction with food or tools.
Electropolishing
Electropolishing is available to reduce micro peaks, improve cleanability and enhance corrosion resistance. The process is defined by target surface function rather than generic marketing labels.
Hard Chrome Plating
Hard chrome plating is available with layer thickness up to 100 µm, depending on the application. Typical drivers are wear resistance, surface hardness and controlled interaction with tools and cleaning processes.
Plasma Coatings and Advanced Functional Layers
Modern functional coatings using plasma processes are feasible depending on required release behavior, wear and chemical stability. Coating selection is application defined and must be aligned with thermal behavior, adhesion logic and surface preparation.
Application Driven Specification
Surface engineering is specified by the application. Revolit supports definition of target roughness, finish direction, coating stack and acceptance criteria. This includes documentation and reproducibility requirements for OEM series manufacturing.
Typical specification parameters
• Target Ra value and measurement method
• Finish type directional or orbital
• Coating type electropolished, hard chrome, plasma based
• Thickness requirement for functional layers
• Acceptance criteria and inspection logic
